How often should I wash my foundation and my blusher brushes?

blusher brushes are usually natural hairs, whereas foundation and concealer brushes are usually synthetic hair.


Personally, i like to wash my foundation/concealer brushes once or twice a week, depending on how much I have used them and what products i have to hand.





With the foundation/concealer brush, i use a baby shampoo. put a blob of it onto the hairs of the brush then swirl the hairs in your hand to get a good lather. this is usually when all of the old foundation that was trapped in the hair will come out. do that twice, then use a conditioner if you want, i find it makes my brushes softer. wipe handle dry, this is important, as you dont want the brush to deteriorate.





leave to dry sitting horizontally on a flat surface overnight, not standing upright as this will let water run down into the handle, and will lead to the top metal bit breaking off from the wood.





If you want a quicker way to wash your brushes, i recommend buying MAC Brush Cleanser. its 拢7.50 i think for a large bottle which should last ages, and it does all the things a shampoo can do, but dries in less time.





blusher brushes only need washes as and when they either get dirty, or about every 4 weeks as a guide.

every couple to few uses or when ur switching colors...its ideal to wash them every time u use them because of bacteria though its not so good for the brush it self...but you can always get away with every few days and still be on the clear side...it also helps with keeping the brushes longer if u slightly extend the time between washing...i wash every other time and for some i do it every 3 uses, like a brow brush or my fan brush. but for half of my make up i use disposable things, like qtips and bio friendly sponges...for the rest i have 2 brushes for each, so that i wont have to wash them like clockwork and instead do it when i have the time...id say for an angled brush that u use for liner , wash it ever use...build up sucks getting off as well as its not so great to let a paint like substance sit on a brush...ud get more use out of an angled liner brush if u wash after every use...just like ur skin and hair, ur brushes build up bacteria and dust...which u should know isnt too great for skin.How often should I wash my foundation and my blusher brushes?
depends how often you use them %26amp; if the brush is good quality but at least every few months. I use shampoo %26amp; conditioner, make sure you rinse well %26amp; re shape so they dry in shape.
i wash mine whenever i change my foundation or blusher so the colours don't mix.

i once heard that it was every 6 weeks, because the can cause spots and other rashes on your skin.
