When you walk down the aisle, you have the single layer of veil covering your face. At what part of the ceremony does the groom reveal your face? Is it just before the kiss, or when you get to him at the other end of the aisle? How does a blusher veil work?
You wouldn't believe the number of ways blusher veils are supposedly traditionally worn. Are you ready?
1. Miss Manners: lifted by the father of the bride as he presents the bride to the groom. I see this from time to time.
2. Emily Post: lifted by the maid of honour (!!) after the rings are exchanged and the bride retrieves the bouquet, but before the officiant announces they are man and wife. This is traditional Episcopalian, but I've not seen it done.
3. Church of England: lifted by the groom after the couple is pronounced man and wife, just before the bride and groom kiss. This is the most common.
4. Orthodox Judaism: the groom lowers the veil over the bride's face at the pre-ceremony reception, and the veil remains lowered through the ceremony.
So I guess you have a lot of latitude! How does a blusher veil work?
In my family the father of the bride lifts the blusher veil to kiss her, then lowers it again...the blusher remains in place until the time the officiate says 'I pronounce you husband %26amp; wife...you may now kiss your/the bride';...then the new husband lifts the blusher and drapes it back over her head, kisses her, and the blusher now stays off her face for she is a wife....
My younger sister wore a blusher with her full length veil (her gown was 'cathedral style' ) I wore a southern antebellum style gown with a big lace covered picture hat for my first marriage.....no veil.
when the vicar/priest says you may now kiss the bride. youll turn towards your husband, he will luift your veil and youll kiss.
